Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. 1 John 3:2,3
The Word of God tells us that we are to be more after we've received the Holy Spirit of God than we were before. In fact, that's when we truly begin to see our purpose revealed. That's why salvation through the blood of Jesus is not the end, but the beginning of the Christian's journey. Salvation should lead to transformation; being transformed into the image and likeness of our God through the model of our Christ. This word from the Lord helps us understand more and more the process that God expects us to embark upon once we're in the body of Christ, and how that process should manifest itself in our lives. It begins with understanding that freedom from the power of sin is not only possible, but expected.
